Norvorent forest - north fog forest
On Exlorant the north most part of the largest continent is almost completely covered by a forest called Norvorent Forest. The name comes from the fog that rolls in almost daily, thick and cold this fog has shaped the plant and animal life of the area. There is only three weeks every year that the Norvorent Forest stays sunny all day long, this time is called the Viewing. The total area of the Norvorent Forest is 800 million acres and holds 1/5 of Exlorant’s fresh water lakes. The Norvorent River is the 6th largest north running river. The abundance of water leads to The Norvorent forest being a very dense forest, however because the fog is so thick that most larger plants get choked out by the lack of light. The high moisture allows for a very large population of small amphibian like animals to live in the more warmer southern parts of the forest. In the far north parts of The Norvorent Forest almost all life is gone because of the cold mixing with the fog.
Dorani Weed - Sponge Weed
Dorani weed is a common flora found in the Norvorent Forest. It’s a long plant with small leaves growing close to its stem, and short roots as is common for plants in the Rani family. What differs for Dorani Weed is the large sponge like flower that blooms almost year round except during the Viewing. This sponge collects water from the fogs, as water from the ground is hard for this plant to get.
Wuplore weed - Mist web weed
Wuplore weed is common flora found only in wet climates, though seen in numbers in the Norvorent Forest Wuplore weed can be found almost all over the world where humidity allows. The web like structure of the Wuplore flower traps drops from the mist, mixing the water with the small amounts of the plants natural nectar heightening the plants attractiveness to local insect life.
Tumbulash weed - tube eater weed
Tumbulash weed is only found on the lower altitude areas of the Norvorent Forest. The Tumbulash weed is almost always brown and dead looking other then the small blue flowers that bloom almost yearly. These little flowers fill slowly with droplets of water from the fog, then attracting bugs with its bright colors hopes for them to drown in the water. This is almost all the nutrients the Tumbulash receives keeping the plant on a knife-edge balance of life and death.
groshilm Tree - Greedy tree
The Groshilm tree is only found on the mountains in the Norvorent Forest. Even as saplings the Groshilm tree grows leaves where they will be higher then the daily fog, for these trees only live for twelve to fifteen year so each day it tries to capture as much sunlight as possible. Though similar shaped leaves as other trees in the Hilm family the Groshilm tree’s leaves are around twice as large as its cousins.
wuunish tree - Spin tree
The Wuunish tree can be found in almost any moderate climate with somewhat consistent wind, the Norvorent Forest is such a place. Every year at mid summer Wuunish trees let the wind pull their leaves that hold a single seed each. The leaves shape lets them flutter and spin in the wind, blowing to far off places.
